My thoughts will not stop

When one thought immediately turns into another, your mind can start trying to solve your entire life at once—what could happen, what someone meant, what you forgot, whether you are making the wrong decision, or whether God is trying to tell you something. And when prayer or surrender does not make the thoughts stop, it is easy to wonder whether the problem is your faith.

Try this now

Widen your visual field

Choose one spot in front of you and let your eyes rest there softly. Without moving your head very much, begin noticing what you can see at the edges of your vision. Notice what is farthest to your left, then what is farthest to your right. Keep your gaze soft instead of staring at any one thing.
